Lactic acid powder (vegan) 250g

Lactic Acid Powder (E270)

Our lactic acid is a high-quality powder obtained from cane or beet sugar and is suitable for vegans. Also known as “milk acid”, it is mainly found in fermented dairy products such as yoghurt, kefir, koumiss, lassi and some fresh cheeses. Lactic acid causes casein coagulation in fermented milk and gives sourdough bread its characteristic sour taste. It is also used in brewing to lower pH and increase the body of beer. Perfect for making vegan cheese and butter, it can also add a tart note to cocktails and drinks.
